The Boston Museum of Science overnight trip took place October 2oth and the 21st this year. This is an annual trip taken by the whole sixth grade class. The most talked about highlights included sleeping in the exhibits, a thrilling planetarium show, and the roaring lightning show.

After school on Thursday, students got into their groups of 5-8 getting ready to their trip to Boston. First, buses drove the sixth graders to Wells where they then boarded the train bound for North Station in downtown Boston. Upon arrival, a cold half-mile walk to the Boston Museum of Science (BMS) followed. The students finally arrived at their destination with excitement.

Walking into the museum first thoughts went to how big the museum was and how much fun they were going to have. First of all, students enjoyed dinner with their friend groups. Followed a little later by exploring all the exhibits on their own. Some favorite exhibits were the health displays, all of the dinosaurs and their fossils, and the physics playground.

Later, all the six graders came together for a welcoming ceremony, group challenges, a midnight snack, booming lightning show, and finally time for bed! After retrieving their luggage, the girls slept throughout the playground and the investigation exhibits. Under the enormous T-rex was the sleeping place of the boys. Lights were out around 12:00 A.M. but, many didn't fall asleep well into the early morning hours.

Ready to start their day, students got up for breakfast at 6:30. This was before even more exploring time and the entertaining planetarium show. All groups then sat down in the huge curved,

3-d omni theater to watch the movie, Amazing Journeys. A short walk to the train station for the students choice of lunch followed. Then the 6th graders took the long train ride back on their way to the school.

A few hours later, the students met their families back at the school. A fun trip all and all, but they were happy to be home with many memories of sleeping in the Boston Museum of Science.
