VR Headsets

On Monday, December 5th one of Mrs. Simond’s science class took a turn using the virtual reality (VR) headsets new to the district. They were using the Google Expedition program and the headsets to explore some of the body systems in 3-D. A new phenomenon around the globe with everybody anxious to explore a headset. The technology consists of looking at the screen of a smartphone while visualizing themselves within this place or setting.

Their time started off with a few technical difficulties. They later emerged themselves within the circulatory system exploring all its organs and functions. The study of the body systems has been going on for a few weeks in their science classroom. Judging on their sounds of amazement getting after trying this technology out, it very well could have been there favorite activity yet.

The VR headsets are rotating through all the York Schools depending on where they are needed. If they are needed that would mean the teacher has reserved them for a certain time period. Suppose this technology explodes throughout the district and there is interest in them trying to get a set for each school would be possible. Hopefully, every student gets to try out these headsets for themselves.
