York Girls 8th Grade Basketball

The York Girls 8th grade basketball team is 3 and 3 with just only 6 games underway. York's first game of the season opened against Portsmouth defeating them 36 - 33. It was a strong game throughout, both teams put up a nail biting game and fought very hard. Congrats to York on opening their season with win. York then went on to claim their second win of the season playing Biddeford defeating them 51 - 30.

York then dropped to Sanford in another close battle even though they all fought hard. With minutes left they had lost, the score closed 59 - 54. York fell in Marshwood to the hawks it was a great fight but they just couldn’t pull it off.

At the begining York came out on top and had great effort all game. York players are confident the next game is going to be a closer game. Later that week York travels to Massabesic for a dirty yet aggressive game. Everyone showed hard work and consistent effort throughout the game and ended in a 40 - 39 loss. Throughout the physical game York managed to keep the game very tight, losing four points in the final two minutes for Massabesic to win.
